Two numbers from Michael Jackson tribute episode of “Glee” have been previewed in videos. One of the snippets is a clip which gives a full look at the New Directions covering the late King of Pop’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ “.
Darren Criss’ Blaine leads the pack of the glee club kids as they bust out MJ’s moves on the McKinley High halls. The performance continues on a stage, where they have traded their school outfits with MJ’s iconic costumes which include leather jacket, white socks, fedora and gloves.
Another video takes fans behind the scenes of the filming for “Smooth Criminal”. Santana and Sebastian do the cover version of this song as they want to have a duel. Grant Gustin gushes the performance is “intense”, while Naya Rivera says it’s like a cat-and-mouse thing.
There’s additionally a clip which gives a look at a scene where Sebastian reveals that Blaine has spilled details on New Direction’s Michael Jackson project. He further tells Rachel and co. that the Warblers decide to do songs from the same singer’s catalog.

Adam Lambert has revealed his hope to land a role on “Glee“. Praising the musical show for being “irresistible” and “charming”, the “Whataya Want from Me” hitmaker said, “Hopefully, maybe now that I have some new music, I could go on there [starring on 'Glee'].”
When asked by The Hollywood Reporter what role he wants to play, the runner-up on “American Idol” season 8 replied, “I want to just be me.” He argued, “Why do I have to be a fictional character?”
Lambert admitted he was not into “Glee” when it first debuted. “When ‘Glee’ first came out, I was like, ‘I don’t really like this show’,” he said. “But now I watch it… And you know what? I do think the show has an agenda, but I respect the agenda. I think it’s a very brave agenda to try to push.”
“I think that they’re one of the few people that are doing it. So it’s definitely one of a kind and very revolutionary in that way,” the 29-year-old openly gay singer added. He further gushed that the Lea Michele-starring series is “so cute” because it “really paints a picture of what it’s like to be an arts kid in high school.”
The Berry family has come together for “Glee“. Just days after it was reported that Jeff Goldblum and Brian Stokes Mitchell were cast as Rachel’s gay fathers, Hiram and LeRoy Berry, the two actors showed up on the set of the musical series.
Lea Michele did not waste time to pose with her on-screen dads and share the picture via her Twitter account. In the caption of the photo, which gives a look at the happy family, the Rachel depicter simply wrote, “Dads.”
Previously, Michele posted a series of tweets to express her excitement to work with Goldblum and Mitchell. “So excited that we’re finally going to get to meet Rachel’s dads!!! So anxious to get to work with both of them!!” she wrote on January 19.
She later added, “Brian Stokes and I have been friends for ages!!! We worked together on Broadway! So happy he’s going to be on the show!!!” In another tweet, she gushed, “This is definitely going to be the best day ever.. Getting ready to shoot my first scene with my two dads!”
Goldblum and Mitchell will make their first appearance on “Glee” in an episode titled “Heart“, which is scheduled to air on February 14. They are reportedly going to sing on the FOX popular series.
Jeff Goldblum and Brian Stokes Mitchell have landed a role on “Glee“. The two actors have been tapped to portray Rachel’s gay fathers, Hiram and LeRoy Berry, who have been mentioned several times on the show but never appeared on the screen.
Goldblum and Mitchell will first appear in a Valentine’s Day episode titled “Heart“, which is scheduled to air on February 14, TVLine reports. Playing the adoptive parents of diva-wanna-be Rachel, they will reportedly show their vocal chords on the popular musical series.

While gleeks are anticipating for a Michael Jackson tribute episode, Ryan Murphy is already preparing another special outing of “Glee“. The show’s creator recently revealed to TV Guide that he plans to do an episode to honor The Bee Gees’ “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack.
“We’ve never done disco on the show, but I’m interested in the genius of The Bee Gees,” Murphy gushed, hinting at a music genre that will be featured in the April episode. Asked if John Travolta who starred in the 1977 film will make appearance, he promised, “I would ask him.”
“Travolta and Cory Monteith [Finn] became close friends at a party when Cory told him he’d seen ‘Broken Arrow’ [Travolta's 1996 movie] 20 times. Travolta sent him an autographed copy of the DVD,” Murphy gushed. Sharing a possible storyline for Travolta, he added, “Maybe we’ll have them dance in a Finn dream sequence.”
“Glee” will return from a holiday hiatus on Tuesday, January 17 with “Yes/No” which will feature the New Directions covering “Summer Nights” from Travolta’s 1978 film “Grease”. The MJ tribute episode, meanwhile, will air on January 31.
A sneak peek to “Glee” Michael Jackson tribute episode has been shared in a form of pictures. Channeling their inner King of Pop, the cast dress in flashy fedoras, leather jackets, sparkly rhinestone socks and gloves as well as the late singer’s other iconic wardrobes.
In one picture taken from “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ ” performance, Darren Criss’ Blaine sports a black jacket and a red bow tie while taking the center stage. He shares the spotlight with Harry Shum Jr.’s Mike who is clad in a red leather jacket.
In addition to the stage, the New Directions kids will do some numbers from MJ’s catalog in the choir room, the McKinley halls, and a parking lot. The girls will also be pitted against the boys from the Warblers in a dance-off.
Executive producer Ryan Murphy said they have the blessing from MJ’s family in doing the posthumous tribute episode. “Michael’s kids are somewhat fans of the show, so the estate was lovely,” he told TV Guide. “In fact, they liked the writing so much that halfway through the planning they asked us to do another one about him next year.”
The MJ tribute episode will air Tuesday, January 31 on FOX. Some other songs to be featured in the special outing include “Bad“, “Smooth Criminal” and “Black and White“.
The planned “Glee” spin-off is no longer on FOX’s list of upcoming TV shows. At the Television Critics Association winter press tour, the network’s entertainment chief Kevin Reilly stated, “There will not be a Glee spin-off.”
Confirming that some senior characters will graduate in the end of season 3, Reilly gushed that creator Ryan Murphy has come up with “a really interesting idea that I think will give us something to dig into next season, and it [starts with] the spring batch of episodes.”
He added that Lea Michele will stay on the musical series, but it’s unclear if Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith will also be part of the show after their characters are graduating from McKinley High School.
Also at the panel taking place this Sunday, January 8, Reilly talked about the future of Ryan Seacrest on “American Idol“. “I think everyone has come to realize the value of Ryan Seacrest. It’s very hard to imagine the show without Ryan. We certainly want to keep him,” he admitted.
Expressing a similar hope, Seacrest said, “I love this television show… and I can’t imagine life without American Idol.” His contract will expire after the show wraps its upcoming eleventh season, but discussions about his future on the show have yet to begin. Reilly thinks they will get through a “tough negotiation”, but believes it will “come to a conclusion pretty quickly.”
On the same occasion, President of Alternative Entertainment Mike Darnell took a jab at “The Voice” which recently tapped Kelly Clarkson as one of guest mentors. “It’s a compliment to Idol. Other shows want to use our stars for their shows. We’re not hiring a lot of people from The Voice to be on our show,” he said of Clarkson’s involvement on the NBC reality series.
Executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz went on adding, “Their auditions are not an open call like us. They cast their show.” Another executive producer Ken Warwick chimed in, “This is the show that produces the stars,” calling the winner of British “The X Factor“, Leona Lewis, a “one and a half hit wonder.”
As of the future of other TV series, Reilly confirmed at the panel that animated show “Allen Gregory” is officially canceled. While talking about the challenges to produce “Terra Nova“, “Fringe” and “House M.D.“, he insisted that no decision has been made on these three shows.
